Find an exercise routine (or routines) that you enjoy and exercise for 20-30 minutes a day.

If I asked you what you ate yesterday, would you be able to tell me? We tend to put food in to our mouths on auto pilot and don't really notice what is going in. It's shockingly easy to eat a lot of junk food without every being consciously aware of it. Keep a journal of everything that you eat. Buy a small notebook and carry it around with you, writing down everything you eat. This will help you see exactly what you are eating and help you to work out which foods are better for you.

A significant percentage of dieters have very unrealistic goals with their diet. For example, they realize that next week / month is the prom / holiday / company party / other event and that they have to get rid of so many pounds by then. Can Weight Loss Hypnosis Work?

Hypnosis has long been reported as an effective cure for tackling many ailments, diseases and mental issues. But can weight loss hypnosis work? There are many people that claim it has helped them, and turned their lives around. There seem to be an equal number that say no significant results were seen. Which is right?

When correctly practiced, hypnosis induces the patient to relax their mind, and focus on the problem in hand. Removing any external influences and thoughts, the part of the mind controlling the causes of the weight issue, can essentially be reprogrammed.

This procedure, referred to as an induction, relaxes the patient. It is important to stress however, that at no point does the patient lose consciousness or control. Once in this state, the hypnotherapist will work to reprogram the areas of the mind that allow for weight problems to develop. This is often confronted by linking bad eating habits, and existing food preferences with something that will trigger a bad memory, or feeling of distaste.

Other methods can be used, using positive instruction. Instead of developing a dislike for, chocolate say, a liking for healthier foods could be encouraged, creating a better sense of judgment for the patient to be discovered.
