The Skinny On Fats

Lose 2 To 5 Pounds A Week

Fat has been given a bad reputation. In actuality, fats don’t really make you fat, excess carbohydrates make you fat! What does this mean to you?It means that
eating “low fat” labeled foods will still pack weight on you just the same as the regular version of that food.I understand that this is a hard concept to grasp because our society bases weight loss on a lower amount of calories.Reducing your caloric intake is only a small piece of the weight loss puzzle. This is why a natural detox and weight loss program is the best option. These type of diets do not rely solely on decreasing your caloric intake.

Consuming low fat diet foods is not good for you. Fat helps to slow the blood sugar response in your body when you eat and this stops weight gain.Plus, diet foods are filled with artificial sweeteners such as nutrasweet, splenda, etc. that your body doesn’t know what to do with because they are a synthetic unnatural chemical. The body will take these toxins and store them in fat cells making it even harder to lose weight.Artificial sweeteners can cause numerous health problems including degenerative diseases.

Fat is used in our body for various health functions.A major portion of our brains are made of fat. There is a fat layer that surrounds your nerves called myelin and if you start to lose it, neurodegenerative diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis will occur.

Our cells rely on healthy fat for proper functioning. This allows the cell membrane to stay fluid so that cellular waste and nutrition can move in and out of each cell.

Finally, your glands need fats for balanced hormone production.

Why we need fats:

  • supply insulation and protection for the organs
  • help store and transport fat-soluble vitamins (A,D,E, and K)
  • assist in mineral absorption (this is why low fat diets cause osteoporosis)
  • helps to mobilize and move fat ( eating fat will actually cause you to lose fat)
  • Slows the absorption of carbohydrates ( manages blood sugar levels)
  • Fat is a bigger molecule therefore when consumed, it reduces your hunger signals making you feel more full.

Be sure that you are eating healthy fats and not transfats, vegetable fats, or saturated fats.

Good Fats:

  • Omega 3 fats are found in cold water fish such as sardines, salmon, tuna, and krill.
  • Other sources include naturally raised grass and vegetable fed animals, almonds, walnuts, avocados, pumpkin seeds, extra virgin olive oil, coconut and coconut oil.

Consuming healthy fats are a key component in any natural weight loss detox program or any diet program for that matter. Be sure that you add it to your diet today.
